Just to list it up... here's a few things they stole
1) the controler...
How did they steal the controler you ask. Well look at the japaneese SNES and the first PAL SNES systems and notice that the controelrs look alot like PS1 controlers without the hand grips sticking out.
2) Motion Sensitivity
Okay, the wii anounced that they would have motion sensitive controlers that pick up your tv... well sony stole half of that with a motion sensitive controler. At least it dosn't pick up the TV.
3) Anolog
Nintendo anounced that they would have annalog on there next syste (at the time the N64). Sony rebounds and says that anolog is stupid and may be more important next generation. Ironicly, they made a controler later on with annolog.
4)Rumble
The N64 also had a rumble feature that was mostly shown off when buying StarFox 64. The later released Dual Shock controler also featured rumble.
5) Console - Handheld
Nintendo advertised this exspecialy with Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles and Four Swords Adventure. A lot of games featured this and now sony is doing it to there consoles too. The PSP can connect to the PS2 via USB and wireless buy PS3. Nintendo also anounced at the first showing of the Wii (called revolution at the time) that it would connect with the DS wirelessly to use for videogames or to make a WIFI hotspot for your DS.
6) Hard Drive
They stole this one from Microsoft. They think a Hardrive will help boost sales. But Ironicly most Xbox owners don't use up but about 5%-10% of the Hard Disk Space. Sony will offer DVR in there new system.
7) Multiple versions of the same system
Again, stealing from Microsoft. The 360's launch offered 2 options, a Core system and a Premium System. Sony is doing the same with there systems too... Way to be orriginal Ken!!!
8) The CD
The SNES was supposed to have a CD player add on. Ironicly, sony was the ones to build it... but screwed over nintendo so nintendo said F**k you and switched to phillips and made a crappys system. But it was still nintendo's idead to build the CD player. They asked sony to build it, but sony tweaked the contract so that sony made all money off the new SNES systems and SNES Cd playes along with the CDs. Forcing Nintendo to have to sell themselves to Sony or just close. Nintendo, Phillips, and Sony agreed to only one Disk Format that is the standerd that MUST be used in Videogame consoles from this day forth (meaning all consoles after the SNES and Gennesis)
9) Final Fantasy
Sony got final fantasy by simpley saying that they could make a better game on their system and it could be longer too. Square agreed and thus Final Fantasy 7. They scraped the 64 Final fantasy and made one of the best Final fantasy's for the PSX. I guess it might have been for the better, but whay about the 64 one, we'll never see it.
10) Sholder Buttons (added at a later date)
I forgot one. Sholder buttons. Orriginaly on the SNES, Sony decides to cash in on it. why not, the controlers are about the same.
So if this dosn't convince you... then look it up for yourself... I'm pro Wii and 360 all the way.
